New Audi A5 Deals and Discount Prices
New Audi A5
The New Audi A5 is a stunning looking car. Audi recruited former Alfa Romeo stylist Walter Da-Silva to head up its design team, and the A5 is the first of their efforts; based on this we are in for some gorgeous looking cars in the future. The looks are a mixture of traditional design cues, with the aggressive gaping front grille that looks like it could swallow pedestrians whole, to more flowing surfaces, and the daytime LED running lights reminiscent of the R8. It is a cohesive design that has more than a little Bentley about it. The coupe is based loosely on the underpinnings of the new A4, thoroughly reworked for improved dynamics, and it is a vast improvement over previous Audi’s, with real delicate poise and balance, rather than the traditional nose heavy dead steering feel from past cars. All of these point to a car more than capable of beating its established rival, the BMW 3 Series. |

Audi A5 2.0 TFSI
The 2.0 TFSI is the entry into the A5 range, having replaced the smaller 1.8 petrol that was available for a short period. Despite being the lowest engine size, there is plenty of pull to be found, as the 2.0 Turbo engine has been seen in several VW group applications (notably the Golf GTI) and is here with a mild rework developing either 180 bhp or 211 bhp – which is plenty of power for this car. It is worth mentioning that the 2.0 comes with front wheel drive as standard, you can spec up the higher 211 bhp version with Quattro four wheel drive should you require it for a price premium , but the front wheel drive feels quicker as the Quattro system does add about 100 kgs in weight. Automatic gearboxes are available in the 180 bhp version, but strangely not the 211 bhp model. The 2.0 will give you fuel consumption in the low 40’s mpg, and is the same for either horsepower level. |
||
Audi A5 2.0 TDI Diesel
The 2.0 TDI Diesel is a new edition to the range, with the motor already seen in the A3 and A4. The common rail diesel engine is good for 170 bhp, and has a good slug of midrange torque that produces a 0-60 time of just over 8 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph, all while giving a very respectable combined figure of 53 mpg. With these statistics, and an entry level price, the Audi A5 2.0 Tdi is set to be the new volume seller in the A5 range. Order books open from January 2009, with the first customer deliveries expected February / March 09, and we’ve got some great discounts already. |
||
Audi A5 2.7 TDI
The 2.7 TDI is currently the smallest diesel engine available in the range, and has more than enough power for the car with levels at 190bhp but you drive this car using the mid range pull rather than revving it as it comes with a huge 295 lb/ft of torque. Currently it’s only available with Audi’s multitronic (read automatic) transmission, no manual exists. Like the 2.0 petrol, it comes front wheel drive as standard, but there is no option to pay extra for Quattro. If you want a diesel, manual gearbox and 4 wheel drive then you will have to take a look at the 3.0 diesel version. It’s worth noting that the 2.7 gives about 44 mpg, only a couple up on the 2.0 litre petrol’s 42 mpg, so think carefully before buying. If you want a big relaxed drive this is the one to go for, if you like revving a car to get the most out of it, it’s the petrol version for you. |
||
Audi A5 3.0 TDI
The 3.0 TDI diesel is a properly fast car, with a noticeable improvement in performance over the older 2.7 engine. The 3.0 Diesel gives a substantial 240 bhp and a whopping 369 lb/ft of torque which translates to a good shove in the back when you need it and a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds, all the time giving a combined fuel consumption of 42.9 mpg, the same as the 2.0 Petrol version. The Audi A5 3.0 diesel has the Quattro drive train as standard on all models, and is available with either manual or the multitronic gearbox, and if you’ve got the money, the 3.0 is the model of choice. |
||
Audi A5 Spec
The A5 is a premium offering, and comes with a sensible, if not overly generous list of spec as standard: 17” alloy wheels, 6.5 inch colour screen (sat nav is extra though), CD, 10 speakers, auxiliary in socket for your MP3 player, electric park brake, fog lights, automatic wipers, reverse parking aid, alarm immobiliser, electric windows, leather seats, dual zone climate control and a trip computer. There are 3 different trim levels available: standard, Sport and S Line. |
||
Audi A5 Sport
The Sport takes all the equipment you get on the standard model, and adds 18” 10 spoke alloys, stiffer sports suspension lowered by 20mm and sports style seats, for an additional premium of £950 over the standard car. The alloys are good looking and fill the arches much better than the std 17’s (the 19” rims are nicer still) the sports seats are nice, although the suspension can be a little hard on the sport models – so try both first. |
||
Audi A5 S Line
The Audi A5 S Line is the latest trim level to be launched on the A5, and will see the addition of the full S Line styling kit, so there’s a deeper front and rear bumper, a different set of sporty 18” alloy wheels, S Line suspension that’s lower and firmer than the sport, and Xenon headlights with the LED driving lights (which were standard across the whole range will now only be standard on the S Line, and be a cost option on other models). The S-Line will be taking over from the sport model as the top spec in the range. Order books open in January 2009 for the S Line, with customer deliveries starting Feb / March 09. |
||
Audi S5
The Audi S5 is top of the tree until a possible RS5 arrives in a few years, but this hasn’t yet been confirmed by Audi. The S5 uses the 4.2 V8 petrol engine to develop 350 bhp and puts it down via the Quattro 4 wheel drive system, improved suspension and brakes. It also has a more muscular appearance with the S bodykit, meaning deeper front and rear bumpers and side sills. The equipment levels on the S5 are similar to the standard car, with larger 19” alloys, brushed aluminium inlays round the cabin and sports seats with silk nappa leather. |
||
Audi A5 ColoursColours available on the A5 are: Garnet Red, Ice Silver, Monza Silver, Quartz Grey, Sahara Silver, Brilliant Black, Brilliant Red, Ibis White, Aruba Blue, Deep Green, Deep Sea Blue, Meteor Grey, Misano Red, Phantom Black and Topaz Blue. Metallic paint is extra on all models. |

Audi A5 Prices
Audi A5 Prices are well positioned in the sector with numbers comparable to the BMW 3 series coupe, and cheaper than a Mercedes CLK, although the main rival to the A5 seems to be the Jaguar XF at the moment. As with all Audis, it isn’t the list price you have to watch, its the total price once you’ve spent time ticking the vast array of options on the price list. Audi A5 residuals are very good, but you wont get any more money back for those options once sale time comes. Thankfully our discounted prices can help here, take a look to see just how much we could save you. |
