The New Audi A6 Allroad 2012 model is a great compromise between estate car and 4×4, with all of the load lugging ability and 4wd prowess, but without the lofty overbearing driving position, excess size and weight of a big off roader. It may not have the outright rock climbing capability of a Discovery, but is more than capable of tackling a steep muddy path up to a country manor, whilst carrying the occupant in luxury and having space for the dogs (or a wardrobe) in the cavernous boot, making it an ideal car for the country gent. The Allroad takes the standard A6 and adds longer travel off road suspension, permanent quattro four wheel drive, a set of chunky alloys and a stylish rugged bodykit to the equation. Surprisingly all of these changes make very little difference to the Allroads handling, and it is as surefooted through the corners as the standard Audi A6 For Sale. Audi A6 2.7 Allroad TDI Diesel

The Audi A6 2.7 TDI Diesel is the entry into the A6 Allroad range. It carries the long standing Audi 2.7 diesel seen in many applications, which can provide steady relaxed performance with a decent amount of mid range shove from its 190 bhp, and still gives a 0-60 of 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 135 mph. The Allroad 2.7 is available as automatic only which suits the car, as the engine is best used in the mid range, and can turn a little harsh over 4,000 rpm. Fuel economy is a decent 37.7 mpg on average.

Audi A6 Allroad 3.0 TDI Diesel

The Audi A6 Allroad 3.0 TDI Diesel is a newer motor than the 2.7, available in manual or automatic and with a very useful 240 bhp giving a rapid 0-60 of 7.2 seconds, and on to a respectable 145mph, making this a very quick car, and the pick of the A6 Allroad range. The Diesel engine is quiet and free revving, and enjoyable to use. Fuel economy is actually better than the 2.7 at 39.2 mpg for the manual version.

Audi A6 Allroad 3.0 TFSI

The Audi A6 Allroad 3.0 TFSI is another new petrol engine in the Audi range, giving 290 bhp and a 0-60 time of 6.3 seconds. The 3.0 petrol engine is smooth and quiet and like to be pushed, with a limited top speed of 155 mph it is the fastest Allroad, but fuel economy suffers at 29.1 mpg on average making it likely to be a much rarer sight than the 3.0 diesel. again the 3.0 TFSI petrol is available as an automatic only.
