Audi Q5 2.0 TFSI

The Audi Q5 2.0 TFSI petrol is a small yet powerful 2.0 turbo engine, with a full 211 bhp, 350Nm of torque, and a rapid 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds, topping out at 135mph, performance figures more in line with a hot hatch than a compact four wheel drive. It’s a fun engine to use, willingly revving and giving serious go. Despite all this, Petrol off roaders have never been the most popular in the UK, so the 2.0 diesel is likely to be the biggest seller, mainly down to the petrol’s 33 mpg average fuel consumption figure. It is available in automatic form only.

Audi Q5 2.0 TDI Diesel

The Audi Q5 2.0 TDI Diesel is the most popular engine in the range, with the motor already seen in the A3 and A4. The common rail diesel engine is good for 170 bhp, and has a good slug of mid range torque that produces a 0-60 time of just 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 126 mph, all while giving a very respectable combined figure of 42 mpg. The 2.0 diesel is currently available as a manual only.

Audi Q5 3.0 TDI Diesel

The Audi Q5 3.0 TDI diesel is a properly fast car, has a substantial 240 bhp and a whopping 500 Nm of torque which translates to a good shove in the back when you need it and a 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds, all the time giving a combined fuel consumption of 37.6 mpg and a top speed of 139 mph, which is faster and more economical than the 2.0 TFSI Petrol version. The Q5 3.0 diesel engine really suits the car and is great fun to drive using the huge mid range pull, and is still quiet and refined for a diesel engine, but you pay a premium for the larger motor, and it’s available in Automatic only.
