New Honda Civic

The Civic is a worldwide sales success that has been with us since 1972, so is nearly 40 years old! The hatchback has always competed with the likes of the VW Golf, but has also been able to offer the fantastic levels of reliability that few other brands can match. We are currently in the eighth generation model and it just keeps getting better. New Honda Civic cars come in several different guises, with entirely separate models built for the UK and US marketplace. The European model is built at the UK factory in Swindon and has a very futuristic design. Engines

The new 1.4 VVTi petrol engine is the smallest engine available but still has a strong 100 horsepower, giving a 13 second 0-60 time and a top speed of 110 mph. fuel economy is at the 47.9 mpg mark on average and CO2 levels are 135 g/km

The next up in the range is the new 1.8 VVTi litre petrol engine which ups the power to 140 horsepower, boosting the top speed to 127 miles per hour and the 0-60 time drops to 8.9 seconds. Fuel economy drops slightly to 42.2 mpg and CO2 levels are at 155 g/km

The new 2.2 CDTI diesel is the most popular engine in the range, and performance matches the 1.8 petrol, with a 0-60 time of 8.7 seconds and an identical top speed of 127 mph. It is popular mainly die to the improved fuel economy which averages 53.3 mpg, beating the 1.8 petrol significantly.

Honda Civic Offers

Honda Civic Specification

The Civic is split specification wise between the 3 door and 5 door, with the 3 door coming in a choice of specs that focus on the sportier side, there is the Type S, the Type S-T, the Type S GT and the Type S GT-T, these all have the sport style suspension, and take after the famous Civic Type R, but without the manic engine.

Moving to the more popular 5 door Civic, this again has a range of specifications, none of which bear any resemblance to the 3 door. There is the standard new Honda Civic SE model which comes with 16” alloy wheels, a full complement of airbags, anti lock brakes, alarm and engine immobiliser, front and rear electric windows, heated door mirrors, refrigerated glove box, trip computer, climate control air conditioning and a CD player with Aux-In socket for your MP3 player.

Next in the 5 door range is the sporty Si model, and on top of the SE it gets colour coded body mouldings, mesh grille, 17” alloy wheels(1.8 and 2.2 engines only) front fog lights, and half cloth – half leather seats.

Next we have the Honda Civic ES model which again builds on the SE spec and also gets 17” alloy wheels, a panoramic glass sunroof, cruise control, automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers, thatcham category one alarm, dual zone climate control, front fog lights, power folding door mirrors, and an aluminium footrest.

Top of the 5 door range is the Honda Civic EX GT which also has voice recognition, integrated bluetooth hands free, HID xenon headlights, headlight washers and auto headlight adjustment.
