    New Jaguar XK

    New Jaguar XK

The New Jaguar XK - If you need a car that looks incredible, is great value for money, will waft you to the South of France without blinking an eyelid in supreme comfort, and yet make you feel like a hero should you wish to throw it down the road on a spirited Sunday afternoon, then this is it, look no further. A Porsche may have a very marginal handling advantage, but will break your back on a 100 mile run, whilst the BMW 6 series feels overweight and ugly by comparison, and the Mercedes SL and Aston Vantage seem massively overpriced. Jaguar has produced a best seller here -they really mastered the art of producing a car that will ride beautifully, even on the optional (and gorgeous) 20” alloys, and yet will out-handle anything this side of a 911 when the twisty bits arrive. Due in part to the lightweight all aluminium construction, the car feels alive, and the steering positive and direct, resulting in a level of cornering ability that owners of the previous generation of XKs will hardly recognise. As an ownership proposition, the XKR makes a very strong case for itself. True, the back seats are laughable for anyone over 12, but you may just be able to squeeze an adult behind the passenger seat if absolutely necessary. The boot is a good size too, (for a sports car) and capable of holding the requisite 2 golf bags. Front seats are comfortable and supportive, the cabin feels spacious and airy and all the controls are well thought out and positioned. The company have fought hard to attain an envious reputation for reliability in the premium sector, and now regularly wins awards for it. The very earliest of the XKs had a few electrical bugs which have now been resolved, and with the aluminium chassis, you are guaranteed never to see a patch of rust. Dealers are top notch too, and always rank highly among the JD Power and Top Gear ownership surveys, to give that all round luxury experience you’d expect when spending 60 grand on a car such as this.

    New Jaguar XKR

    New Jaguar XKR

The New Jaguar XKR Takes everything we love about the XK and moves it up to a whole new level. The big 5.0 V8 engine, already a powerful motor is supercharged for an extra 120 bhp, to take power from 381 bhp up to a massive 503 horsepower, which takes the Jag XKR's 0 to 60 time right down to 4.6 seconds and on to a top speed that is limited to 155 but unrestricted would be close to 200 mph. These take the new Jaguar XKR into real super car territory with more power than a Porsche 911 turbo or Ferrari F430. To make sure the chassis can handle all the extra power, the XK's standard CATS suspension is ditched for firmer Bilstein dampers, and brakes are also upgraded. Much bigger 20" alloy wheels are fitted to put all that brute strength onto the road, and overall the car is a much more focused sports car than the standard XK. It is available in either coupe or convertible trims, and is the performance flagship of the whole range.

    5.0 engine

Jaguar has replaced the 4.2 motor with the all new 5.0 litre model, with delveries starting April 2009 for the new model. The current 4.2 models are available at a massively discounted price for the remaining stock. They 4.2 can no longer be ordered from Jaguar dealers as of January 2009, and all new cars are being built with the newer engine. the 5.0 litree motor is vastly more powerful, giving 370 horsepower from the normally aspirated XK engine and over 500 horsepower from the spuercharged version.

    Jaguar XK Coupe

    Jaguar XK Coupe

The Jaguar XK Coupe starts just under the £60,000 mark and for that you get a considerable amount of standard spec that embarrasses rivals from Aston Martin and Mercedes. Standard equipment is: 18" alloy wheels, metallic paint, 10 way electrically adjustable heated leather seats with memory function, xenon headlights, 6 CD in dash multi changer, 7" touchscreen satellite navigation, multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, parking aid, bluetooth, dual zone climate control, keyless start, walnut wood dash, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, trip computer, carpet mats and front foglights. The XK coupe is a hatchback, so boot space is surprisingly good for and it will take the all important 2 sets of golf clubs with ease.

    Jaguar XKR Coupe

    Jaguar XKR Coupe

The Jaguar XKR Coupe starts at around £72,000 and for that you get all the additional power of the supercharged 5.0 litre engine, along with the uprated suspension and brakes mentioned earlier. You also get some serious goodies such as the 20" Nevis alloy wheels, the no cost option of the R Performance aerodynamic pack, the higher quality softgrain leather 16 way electric sports seats available in Ivory leather at no extra cost that are both heated and cooled, a heated leather steering wheel, the amazing bowers and Wilkins premium sound system, an alloy space saver spare wheel, Jaguar smart key with keyless entry, a heated front windscreen, and the cool looking supercharged bonnet vents.

    Jaguar XK Convertible

    Jaguar XK Convertible

The Jaguar XK Convertible or cabriolet, adds about £6000 to the price, but the stylish fabric roof is worth it. The XK was designed as a convertible from the outset, rather than chopping a roof off the coupe, so the body structure is incredibly rigid and there is no hint of scuttle shake or steering weel vibration that you get in some cabrio's. The convertable roof stores neatly in the boot, and while it does rob boot space, there is still a bit of room left for some luggage when down, and it will take the golf clubs when up. Other than a choice of several different hood colours, the spec on the convertible is identical to that of the coupe.

    Jaguar XKR Convertible

    Jaguar XKR Convertible

The Jaguar XKR Convertible or cabriolet, again adds £6000 to the coupes list price, and again, looks fantastic! Other than the electric roof, the specification on the XKR Cabrio is exactly the same as the coupe, with all the same toys on.

    Jaguar XK Portfolio

    Jaguar XK Portfolio

The Jaguar XK Portfolio is the highest specification normally aspirated model, with the same engine and performance, just more toys on. The Portfolio spec gives you a lot of the XKR options, such as the upgraded softgrain leather 16 way electric seats, which are heated and cooled ventilated leather, the Bowers and wilkins premium sound system, the heated leather steering wheel, Ivory leather as a no cost option, and keyless entry, along with an upgrade from the standard cars 18" Venus alloys to the rather nice 20" Kalimnos alloys. the Portfolio upgrade costs an extra £5,000 on top of the standard price and is available as a coupe or convertible.

    Colours

The XK is available in a variety of colours for 2009: Ultimate Black, Vapour Grey, Frost Blue, Azure Blue - due to be replaced with Spectrum Blue summer 09, Indigo, emerald Fire Green, Botanical Green, Pearl Grey, Lunar Grey, Liquid Silver, Kyanite Blue, Radiance Red - due to be replaced by Claret in mid 2009, are all the metallic / pearlescent colours, with Porcelain White, Salsa Red and Ebony Black are the solid flat colours. On the Jaguar XKR and XK, all paint colours are included in the basic list price, so there is no extra charge for metallics.

    Jaguar XK Prices

Considering the amount of standard equipment you get on even the basic model, Jaguar XK Prices are an absolute steal, and once you factor in the fantastic discounts we have at Orangewheels it gets even better, we have over £10,000 off some of the remaining 4.2 models, along with Jaguars current 3.9% APR low rate finance on them - Just take a look to find our discounts: how much is on offer and what is the cheapest price available on the new Jaguar XK.

    Jaguar XKR Prices

The extra equipment that comes with the car make Jaguar XKR Prices incredible value for money. Plus when you look around, for a 500 bhp sports car, then £70k is fantastic value with the BMW M6 at £10,000 more and the Audi R8 V20 at £30k more. Similar with the Porsche 911 Turbo at over £100k, never mind the equivalent Aston Martin DB9 or Ferrari, and none of these models comes close to giving you the levels of kit the Jaguar XKR comes with as standard equipment.
