Specification

The new 1.4 petrol engine is the smallest engine available and also the cheapest and lowest price car in the range. It has 88 horsepower, good enough for 0 to 60 mph in 13.4 seconds and a top speed of 101 mph. fuel consumption is OK at 47.9 mpg, with CO2 levels at 139g/km. The 1.4 is only available in the lower specification trim levels and whilst it is the cheapest in the range the diesel is the strongest seller.

The new 1.5 DCi diesel is the only diesel available in the range, but it is a strong and refined engine that has a particularly healthy mid range for overtaking. It has 86 horsepower good for a 0-60 time of 13.3 seconds, and a top speed of 102 miles per hour, similar performance to the 1.4 petrol, but with much better fuel economy with an average combined figure of 65.7 miles per gallon and CO2 levels of just 115g/km, making it the greenest and most fuel efficient model, and our choice.

The new 1.6 petrol engine is the fastest car in the UK range and has 110 horsepower, giving a 0-60 time of 10.7 seconds and a top speed of 114 mph. The engine is smooth and enjoys being revved. fuel economy isn’t bad, but is well down on the diesel at 42.8 mpg and CO2 is at the 149 g/km level. If you do low mileages or don’t like diesel, or in fact need an auto gearbox, then this is the car in the range for you.
