The New Nissan Qashqai has proved to be a very successful crossover vehicle, designed to sit somewhere between a traditional hatchback, a 4×4 and a people carrier. It has all the chunky looks of an off roader, and is available with 4 wheel drive with some models, and has plenty of interior space so can carry a family in comfort with a high roof line meaning its easy to get the kids in and out. The car provides everything good about traditional 4×4’s – elevated driving position and great storage, but without the extra large size, meaning it is easy to manoeuvre and park. Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCi
The new Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCi diesel is the cheapest and lowest price diesel available in the range, but it is still quite a strong and refined engine with a good mid range more than enough for everyday use. It has 106 horsepower good for a 0-60 time of 12.2 seconds, and a top speed of 108 miles per hour, and with the best fuel economy in the range with an average combined figure of 54.3 miles per gallon and CO2 levels of just 139g/km, making it the greenest and most fuel efficient model. |

Nissan Qashqai 1.6
The new Nissan Qashqai 1.6 petrol is the cheapest and smallest of the 2 petrol models in the line up. It has 115 horsepower, good enough for a top speed of 109 miles per hour, and gives an average fuel economy of 42.4 miles per gallon – 12 miles per gallon less than the diesel, and a higher CO2 at 159 g/km. The engine is quite refined but does need revving to get the best out of it. |

Nissan Qashqai 2.0 DCi
The new Nissan Qashqai 2.0 DCi diesel is the larger of the 2 diesel model available, and our pick of the range if it was our money. It has 150 horsepower and loads of mid range torque, meaning it can cruise happily on motorways and has plenty of overtaking ability if needed. It has a 0-60 time of 10.5 seconds and has fuel economy similar to the 1.6 petrol at 42.8 mpg and CO2 levels at 174 g/km. It is a bit of a step up in price over the 1.5 DCi diesel but is worth the extra if you enjoy the performance or do plenty of motorway miles. The 2.0 DCi is available as a manual or an auto. |

The new Nissan Qashqai 2.0 petrol is available with either a standard manual gearbox or with an optional CVT automatic. It is a refined and smooth engine with 141 horsepower, a top speed of 119 miles per hour but loses out to the diesel if fuel consumption is important to you as it gives an average combined figure of 34.9 mpg and a CO2 level of 192 g/km. The 2.0 petrol engine is a nice engine to use. |
