Renault Espace 2012

The new 2.0 DCi diesel is the only diesel available in the range, but thankfully it’s an excellent engine well up to the job, and is refined and powerful. It comes in 3 power levels, a 130 horsepower and a slightly more expensive 150 and 175 horsepower version. The 130 has a 0-60 time of 13.5 seconds ans a top speed of 114 miles per hour, whilst producing 188g/km of CO2 and returning an average fuel economy of 39.2 mpg on the combined cycle. Jumping up a level to the 150 horsepower model (which is available optionally with an automatic gearbox) the car has a 0 to 60 time of 10.6 seconds and an increased top speed of 121 miles per hour. The extra go of the 150 is worth paying for if you can afford it as there is plenty more mid-range torque, and fuel economy and CO2 emissions are unchanged from the 130. The new Renault Espace 2.0 petrol engine is by far the cheapest lowest price car, with 140 horsepower it makes a decent choice of you don’t like the more expensive diesels, but fuel economy does drop to 30.7 mpg, or you could look at the 2.0T model which has a turbo fitted which boosts power to 170 horsepower. both are refined engines to use, but both lose out to the diesels come resale time due to the higher fuel consumption and CO2 figures.
