The new 2.0 V-Matic is the only petrol engine in the line up, and comes either in 2WD (Front Wheel Drive) with a manual gearbox or 4WD with a 7 speed automatic gearbox called M-Drive. The engine produces 158 horsepower, good enough for a 0-60 time of 10.2 seconds in the manual car (11 seconds for the 4×4 Auto), and a top speed of 115 mph. The new 2.2 Diesel is the more popular choice of engine now that most consider that diesel is the way to go for 4 wheel drive cars. It is available with either a manual (D4-D)or automatic (D-CAT) gearbox and produces 150 bhp, enough for a claimed 0-60 time of 10.2 seconds in the manual car, and a top speed of 118 mph, matching or beating the petrol engine on both counts, while giving much better fuel economy at 48.7 mpg, and lower CO2 of 154 g/km.
