New VW Polo

The New VW Polo has become a strong favourite with buyers, and is one of Orangewheels best sellers. a combination of classy looks, great build quality and sensible prices combine to make the Volkswagen Polo a very attractive proposition. The Polo has always swayed towards comfort rather than outright cornering ability of something like a Ford Fiesta, but makes a great little runabout, with the Volkswagen badge meaning much stronger residual values when sale time comes. Looks have always been conservative, and evolutionary rather than the latest fashion, but the Polo has always been a neat, smart little package with plenty of space inside due to the high roofline, also making it easy to get in and out. Specification levels depend on which model you go for, but the cabin feels well made from quality materials, and will be properly screwed together to last a lifetime.

VW Polo S

The VW Polo S is the entry spec for the Polo range, and has been upgraded from the previous generation model, and it comes with all the safety kit you would expect: ABS brakes, driver and passenger airbags, front side airbags and isofix system for child seats. It also has central locking, 2 cupholders, drivers seat height adjustment, electric front windows, full size steel spare wheel, height and reach adjustable steering wheel, RCD210 radio CD player with 4 speakers, basic trip computer with service interval display. The S is available with or without Air Conditioning, just look for the [AC] sign at the end of the model description for cars with air conditioning.

VW Polo Moda

The VW Polo Moda is expected to be the top selling spec, and takes over freom the Match version. The Moda is available with or without Air Conditioning, just look for the [AC] sign at the end of the model description for cars with Air Conditioning included in the price. On top of the S spec, the Moda also gets: 15” cadiz alloy wheels, body coloured door handles and mirrors, chrome radiator grille, tinted rear windows, on the interior, matt chrome trim details, driver and paessenger underseat drawers, easy slide seats on the 3 door to help people getting in the back, rear electric windows on the 5 door version, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, front fog lights, front passenger seat height adjustment, front seat back storage pockets, Multi Device Interface (MDI) in the glovebox for you to plug your IPod into, upgraded RCD 310 sound system with 6 speakers and an Aux-In socket, reading lights, remote central locking, split folding rear seats, space saver spare wheel to allow an adjustable load floor in the boot, two tone horn, and illuminated vanity mirrors so you can do your make-up!

VW Polo SE

The VW Polo SE is a different spec from the Moda variant, and is almost identical in spec except you get a different style of 15” alloy wheels, air conditioning as standard rather than an option, but the SE does not get the Multi Device Interface or the tinted rear windows that the Moda gets.

VW Polo SEL

The Polo SEL is VW’s top spe Polo model, and gets everything the SE gets, and adds: 16” Aolloy wheels, chrome trimed front air intake, alarm with interior protection, front and rear carpet mats, front centre armrest, front fog lights, front footwell lights, leather trimmed 3 spoke steering wheel with chrome insert, gearknob and handbrake, Multi Device Interface (MDI), Multifunction computer and tyre pressure indicator.

VW Polo 1.2

The VW Polo 1.2 petrol engine is available in both 60 and 70 bhp forms, and unless you’re on a budget, we’d recommend the 70 bhp format. The 60 is fine for round town work, but can struggle at motorway speeds, whereas the 70 gives you a bit more go. Both are fuel efficient engines, giving around 51 mpg on the official combined cycle.

VW Polo 1.4

The VW Polo 1.4 petrol engine gives 85bhp and feels a fair bit more powerful than the 1.2, so if you’re using the car for long distances or motorway work, this is the way to go, and still provides a combined fuel consumption of 47.9 mpg, so not far off the smaller units. It has an added advantage of also being the only Polo engine with the DSG automatic transmission as an option.

VW Polo 1.2 TSI

The VW Polo 1.2 TSI petrol engine is the most powerful engine currently available in the Polo. It is an all new engine, derived from the incredibly good 1.4 TSI available in the Golf model, and has a Turbocharger, so it produces a powerful 105 horsepower from a small capacity engine, while still giving great fuel economy. the engine doesnt come cheap, but it is the best in the range.

VW Polo 1.6 TDI diesel

The VW Polo 1.6 TDI diesel engine is a brand new design, and has a fair bit of pull about it. It’s available in 2 power levels, either 75 bhp or 90 bhp, but the 90 horsepower version can only be ordered in top spe SEL trim. in the SEL both give a great combined fuel economy of 65.7 mpg from the official figures.
