Audi Q7 TFSI For Sale

TFSI is the name Audi gives to its turbo petrol engine, with the brand following the trend to reduce the engine capacity and add a turbo to reduce fuel economy and emissions levels whilst keeping power the same. The Audi Q7 TFSI models are 2 different variants of the same engine – a 3.0 litre turbocharged petrol unit producing either 272 or 333 horsepower. These take over from some of the larger 3.6 litre and 4.2 litre non-turbo petrol engines that were available in the Q7 range before its 2010 face-lift, and they both vastly reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption over their predecessors.

The 272 horsepower version gives a 0-60 time of 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 140 miles per hour, which isn’t at all bad, with fuel economy figures of 26.4 mpg and CO2 levels at 249 g/km. the more powerful 333 horsepower version reduces the 0-60 sprint to 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 152 mph, with identical CO2 and average fuel economy figs of 26.4 mpg the same as its less powerful brother.

Despite all this the Q7 TFSI versions are likely to be small volume sellers as the majority of buyers in the UK tend to go for diesel as their engines of choice in large 4×4’s and because of this the diesels although a little more expensive, do tend to hold their residual values better than petrol models.
