Mazda is really on a roll at the moment, with the gorgeous new Mazda 3 model bringing in a new styling direction that's as individual and curvaceous as anything you will see yet totally distinctive, and that design has followed onto the new CX-30 model which sits between the CX-3 and CX-5 in terms of size, and as the brand was already using the CX-4 name for a China-only model we get the CX30 name instead, based on the same platform as the outstanding new 3 model, it should definitely be on your shortlist of you're looking for a crossover SUV with a budget of £20-£25k, up against cars like the Volkswagen T-Roc and Seat Ateca. The interior is beautifully designed with plenty of expensive feeling squishy plastics and leather, a responsive 8.8" touchscreen and a great level of kit even on the basic SE-L model. Only downsides are that like most Mazdas it's currently petrol engined only with a choice of either the Skyactiv-G engine with 122 bhp or the Skyactiv-X with 180 bhp.
The new Mazda CX-30 is for sale in the following colours: Arctic white, Sonic silver, Snowflake White pearl, Jet Black, Deep Crystal Blue, Polymetal Grey, Machine Grey and the gorgeous Soul Red Crystal. Front wheel drive and 4 wheel drive versions are both available, and diesel has sensibly been ditched altogether.
