Audi has just launched 2 different hybrid options in the all new 2021 model Q5, the 50 TFSIe and the 55 TFSIe. Both are based around the same 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine you will find in the non-hybrid 45 TFSI model, just with different turbo set ups and both linked to the same 14.1kWh battery and 141bhp electric motor, and both will give you around 30-35 miles of electric only use, and will slip into petrol mode on longer journeys and higher speeds. The 50 TFSIe will give you a combined power figure of 295 bhp and the 55 TFSI will give you a combined figure of 362 bhp, but be aware this is when both the petrol and electric motors are running at the same time, and you will need to recharge the car overnight. A full recharge on a conventional UK plug will take 6 hours, while a home charger which are usually rated around 7kW will fully charge the battery in around 2 hours. When used sensibly the Q5 Hybrids will give you over 40mg combined fuel economy in real world use, and straight-line acceleration feels really rapid, approaching the levels you'd get in the SQ5 model.
