The Ioniq comes in three different powertrain variants, the Hybrid, the Plug in Hybrid and the all-electric version. The range starts with the non plug-in hybrid which runs a 1.6 litre GDi petrol engine combined with the 32kW electric motor which is charged through both the petrol engine and energy regeneration in braking. Trim levels feature either an SE, Premium or Premium SE spec as with most of the Hyundai range. the Plug-in model is a little more expensive on the monthly leasing price but has a much larger battery (44kWh vs 32kWh) so will save you a lot more in fuel costs as will run in electric only mode for much longer, but you will need the ability to recharge overnight at home, so somewhere to fit a charger is necessary.
