Despite the off road style looks, the new 2021 Mazda CX-30 doesn't have 4 wheel drive as standard, but it is available on certain models - you need to look at the Sport Lux, GT Sport or GT Sport Tech specification, the SE-L models can't be ordered with it, an d you need to also go for the more powerful Skyactiv-X engine with 180 horsepower because again the less powerful Skyactiv-G doesn't have enough torque to power all 4 wheels at once. The 4x4 system will cost you around £2,200 over the front wheel drive version, and can be selected with the manual or automatic gearboxes, and is denoted by AWD in our descriptions above, so pick one of those angd you'll be good to go! It's still worth noting that whilst the 4 wheel drive system will help with traction off the line in muddy and snowy conditions, a 4x4 drivetrain will not help the car turn or stop any better in snow, so it is well worth fitting winter tyres once the weather turns bad or you may still skid into a ditch!
