The 911 is available as both a coupe and a Cabriolet, with the soft top typically costing around £9,650 more than the equivalent hard top, however as the convertible has a higher resale value, the difference between them in the monthly leasing cost isn't that marked. You can order the Cabrio in both the Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 versions, and also the new Turbo is available with it, and other than the folding fabric roof there are very few differences between the spec of the cars, and it's so popular that 1 in 3 911 models sold is the Cabriolet. Over the years Porsche has got better and better at strengthening the body of the car so there is now virtually no scuttle shake or loss of rigidity from chopping the roof off, which now folds up or down in just 12 seconds and up to speeds of 31 mph. It also looks a lot less prem-like than previous generations with it maintaining the coupe roofline when the cloth hood is up. The extra mechanical gubbins do add around 70kg to the weight of the car but it's not noticeable at all when you start pushing in the corners, and it still makes for an effortless open top sports car.
