The bigger brother of the 1.5 diesel in the Kadjar line up is the 1.7 dCi, which is a quite different engine to it's smaller brother the 1.5 - the 1.7 has 150 horsepower and has a fair bit more go about it with a strong surge of mid range torque for overtaking and it's more at home cruising in the fast lane. The downside is it's a little rougher than the 1.5 dCi and you notice it's vibrations a little more more, but it's not a major issue, and it can be specified with 4WD unlike the smaller 1.5. So if you need the extra power it's the one to go for, if you're looking for the cheaper smoother but slower option then stick with the 1.5 dCi instead and save yourself £1000, othough we recon the torque of the larger diesel suits a car of this size better.
