The big brother of the 1.5 dCi in the 2019 Scenic model range is the 1.6 diesel, which is a quite different engine to it's sibling - the 1.6 has a choice of either 130 or 160 horsepower and has a fair bit more go about it with a strong surge of mid range torque for overtaking and it's more at home cruising in the fast lane. The downside is it's not quite as smooth in use than the 1.5 dCi and you notice it's vibrations a little more more, but you don't need to rev it as much to get up to speed quickly. So if you need the extra power it's the one to go for, if you're looking for the cheaper smoother but slower option then stick with the 1.5 diesel instead.
