The top of the model 3 range is this - the "Performance" spec. It features the same larger battery as the long range model with 88kWh but instead of using the large motor from the standard range and adding a smaller 2nd motor at the front, the Performance effectively uses 2 larger motors, one on each axle to give a huge amount of power - 0-60 is a ridiculous 3.2 seconds, down to the strong torque that electric motors generate at lower revs but also from the clever programming with Tesla able to manage the torque at each axle digitally to get an instant response and stop any wheelspin. With the use of 2 larger motors the range is down slightly from 350 miles to 329 miles but we feel it's worth the extra monthly leasing price for the extra performance alone. Overall power from both motors is a strong 456 bhp which puts the car up against rivals like the BMW M3 and the Mercedes C63 AMG, plus the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and the Audi RS5. The Model 3 performance doesn’t quite have the racing suspension and brakes or bucket seats when compared to rivals, as it is focused more on every day driving and comfort, but at the traffic lights it's capable of beating the lot of them!
