The new Fiat 500L 1.6 Multijet Diesel pairs up Fiat’s practical and spacious 4-door version of the 500 with a robust and powerful 1.6 litre engine, built for long distance family motoring as well as the 'school run'.
The 1.6L Multijet is a tried and tested unit, but now in its second generation in 2018, incorporating stop-start technology and demonstrating Fiat’s prowess in combining responsive and flexible performance with truly outstanding economy. This turbo-charged diesel engine delivers the best of both worlds.
The 500L 1.6L Multijet comes in two specs with 105Ps or 120PS. The 105 has the edge on economy, returning an average 62.8mpg and releasing a modest 117g of CO2 per km into the atmosphere. The 120PS Multijet wins in the performance stakes however, with a 0-60 in 11 seconds and a top speed of 114mph. Both specs offer reliable and low cost motoring for the ownership period and strong sell-on values.
The 1.6L Multijet is available across the 2018 Fiat 500L range, except for the entry Pop trim. List prices start at a little under £17K for the 1.6L 105PS Pop Star with air conditioning and alloy wheels. The 120PS version increases the cost by around £500 across the range.
The 1.6L Easy Trim adds parking sensors and electric windows whereas the Lounge model, listing at £18,385, comes with climate control, sunroof, rain sensors and unique styling. Finally, the off-road luxury Trekking edition introduces rugged 4WD good looks, great wheel traction and an appealing high ride. The Trekking reaches £19,585 list price for the 1.6L diesel with 120PS.
With its super-cool styling and additional kit, the Beats edition of the 500L is new for 2018. This can also be twinned with the 1.6L Multijet diesel and lists at around £20.5K.
