Those looking for a diesel option when buying a new Peugeot 2008 will be able to choose from four options: the 1.4 HDi, the 1.6 e-HDi Stop & Start EGC, and two versions of the 1.6 e-HDi Stop & Start. All have relatively low CO2 emissions, with the Stop & Start engines also offering increased fuel economy. There is no one model in the Peugeot 2008 range, however, that offers all four diesel options.
The 1.4 HDi, offering 70 bhp, has low CO2 emissions of 104g/km, and is only available with the Access+ or the Active model. Prices start at £14.3k.
The 1.6 e-HDi Stop & Start EGC is available on both the Active and the Allure. Its bhp is greater than the 1.4 HDi at 92, but it offers the lowest CO2 emissions of the four available diesel engines in the new 2008 at just 98g/km. Prices start at £16.4k for the Active, and £17.6k for the Allure. The engine is controlled via six speed Electronic Gearbox Control.
The 1.6 e-HDI Stop & Start engine is available in two variants - one offering 92 bhp, one offering 115 bhp. The former is available on all models bar the Access, while the latter can be chosen with the Allure or the Feline only. The 92 bhp engine has CO2 emissions of 103g/km, making it slightly more eco-friendly than the 115 bhp, with CO2 emissions of 106g/km. Prices vary from model to model, with the 92 bhp engine starting at £15.8k in the Active, and the 115 bhp engine starting at £17.7k in the Allure.
