Fuel & Gearbox
The new 2020 Captur has just been launched with a new plug-in hybrid model that the brand are calling E-Tech. It uses a 1.6 litre petrol engine alongside 2 electric motors and a large 9.8kWh battery pack alongside a 400V electrical system, giving it an electric-only range of around 30 miles, and top speed when operating in EV mode of 85 mph. If you have the ability to recharge your car at home on a night (and will remember to do so!) and you do mainly shorter commutes to wqork every day of 10-15 miles each way plus some occasional longer journeys then this new Captur Hybrid would be a great way of saving on fuel costs. If your daily journeys are more longer motorway journeys then a diesel would probably still be a better idea.
