Ecomotive technology is available in every model of the new generation 2018 SEAT Alhambra, including S, SE, I-TECH and SE Lux. This includes the Start/Stop system, which saves petrol as the engine stops when the car is at a standstill and put into neutral, automatically starting again as soon as the clutch is pressed. Another aspect of the Ecomotive technology which reduces running costs and carbon emissions is the Brake Energy Recovery System. As the name suggests, this system conserves and makes use of the kinetic energy that would normally be lost during braking. The saved energy can then be used to help with acceleration, taking the burden off the battery and saving considerable amounts of fuel and money during the lifetime of the car.
The combined fuel consumption of around 50 mpg and CO2 emissions of only 146 g/km ensure that the new SEAT Alhambra is one of the cleanest models of MPV on the market. But this efficiency does not detract from the car’s smooth power and agility. In fact, the Ecomotive SE has been shown to achieve top speeds of around 120 mph on the test track, and can accelerate from 0 to 60 in less than 11 seconds. These figures prove that cleaner technologies can complement high performing, powerful engines perfectly.
A brand new Alhambra Ecomotive with 2.0 Litre TDI CR engine and manual transmission will have an RRP around £25,600 in the standard S trim, and up to £30,900 in the top of the range SE trim with Ecomotive engine.
