Whiles we still think Toyota's renaming of the Avensis Estate as 'Touring Sports' sounds like either a marketing department gimmick or a poor Japanese translation of the phrase 'Sports Tourer', it doesn't stop it form being a cracking car. With a huge load bay once the rear seats are folded away, giving you 1609 litres which beats most cars in class (except maybe the new Passat) it's a cavernous boot that you could fit everything from several big dogs to a wardrobe into. Trips to Ikea will be a doddle from now on! The estate body style costs you around £1,500 more than the equivalent saloon car, and pretty much all the different trim levels are available, plus the Tourer gets the optional lovely panoramic sunroof (standard on the Excel) that lets so much more light into the cabin, which cant be specified on the saloon.
