Jump up from the T3 to the T4 petrol engine takes you from 150 to 190 horsepower, but will cost you over £4,000 as you're not only paying for the extra power but you are also getting the 4 wheel drive system and geartronic automatic gearbox thrown in as standard, no manual version is available. You're better off considering it as that you're paying £1,500 for the automatic, £1,500 for the 4 wheel drive and £1000 for the extra 30 horsepower. Having all those additional gubbins does blunt fuel economy a bit with official figures being around 40mpg combined, but in real life use we'd expect early 30's. If you're doing big mileages of 20,000 miles a year or more we'd say stick with the diesel, but for most people the petrols will be a better choice.
